In July 2023, the China Building Materials Academy released this research report propsing a pathway toward carbon neutrality for China’s cement industry. The research was supported by Energy Foundation China.

The report studies the current status and trends of energy consumption and carbon emissions in the cement industry, before it presents recommendations on key carbon reduction technologies and policies for accelerating the carbon neutrality transition of the industry.

Offering a systematic analysis on the industry’s carbon neutrality pathway based on a portfolio of key mitigation technologies, the authors of the report hope it can help with policymaking and enterprise action in advancing the deep decarbonization of the cement industry.
